Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 10th December 1907 in which the following was discussed: gifts to the Gallery are acknowledged. Hugh Lane offers for six month loan, a male portrait by Titian, a female portrait by Goya, and an unidentified decorative picture by an 'unidentified master of the Spanish School'. The Director exhibited 12 medallions by James Tassie which are being offered as a loan by the Gallery in Scotland. They are gratefully accepted. Correspondence is read relating to the Milltown Collection from Mr Lanphier. The nomination of a representative to serve on the board of the Municpal Art Gallery is discussed. The board expressed sympathy with idea of establishing a Modern Art Gallery and the efforts of Hugh Lane but as of now do not consider themselves sufficiently well informed on the current state of affairs to provide a nomination.
