Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 17th May 1916 in which the following was discussed: a "Portrait of Edward Dowden" was presented as a gift to the board, and accepted [by Walter Osborne, NGI 774]. A portrait of the late Patrick Viscount Duffy [by Osborne, NGI 891] was offered to the Gallery on a loan by the artist, Miss Margaret Saunders, and accepted by the board. The board considered the applications for the Director of the Gallery and decided to grant the position to Mr R. Langton Douglas.
