Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 5th April 1916 in which the following was discussed: the Director read to the board his report for the year 1915, a copy of which was also to be transmitted to the Treasury. A gift of the coronation medals of William IV and Queen Victoria was accepted by the board. A pencil portrait by Hugh Douglas Hamilton and a portrait of G. Cunningham by Stroeling were also donated and accepted. The Director exhibited a portrait in chalk of Lord Norbury for sale, which the board approved for purchase [NGI 2710]. The Director also informs the board of a painting that is liekly to soon come up for sale that he would be interesting in purchasing for the Gallery, namely the original copy of the "Installation Banquet of the Knights of St Patrick."
