Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 14th November 1895 in which the following was discussed: a Bronze Bust [by Leon Joseph Chavalliaud, French, 1858-1921, NGI 8189] of the late Rev. James Healy accepted from Mr Henry Yates Thompson. Estimate for salaries and expenses of £2443.4.0 submitted by Director. List of pictures and Mezzotint portraits submitted for purchase (prices listed). Replacement Porter proposed. The board agree to communicate to the Treasury the 'great inconvenience caused to the public in Ireland' by inadequacy of the existing accommodation for works of art in the Gallery.
