Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 13th January 1905 in which the following was discussed: the purchase of a drawing by Alfred Stevens was approved. There is a list of engraved portraits that were approved for sale, as well as a list of gifts received by the Gallery. The Director read to the board correspondence relating to the Lady Milltown affair, and the legal action taken against her. The board instructs the Director to inform the Lord Lieutenant that every room designated for the Milltown Collection has been finished to Lady Milltown's standards and remain empty and separate from the rest of the Gallery, as they always have been. Hugh P. Lane requested the board's permission to exhibit a selection of 80 pictures and drawings from the Forbes? Collection that had recently been on display at the Royal Hibernian Academy, which the board agreed to.
