Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 3rd November 1892 in which the following was discussed: the Director proposed to write to the Treasury to reclaim the funds lost at the break in the Directorship. It was approved. In light of information from other galleries the board agreed the wages of servants to the Gallery should be increased ten percent. The board agreed to write to the Treasury seeking funds for an extension to the Gallery. Two pictures purchased; the "Actual Cautery"by Adrian Brouwer ("The Foot Doctor" NGI 356) for £35 and a "Portrait of Sir Henry Wyat" by Holbein (NGI 370) for £320.5.0 (the original subject name of the portrait is crossed out replaced by the name Henry Wyatt - looks like at a later date). The Director is empowered to seek works of Bartholomew Colles and Charles Grey.
