Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 16th June 1892 in which the following was discussed: RDS request appointment of judge for Taylor Prize. Armstrong nominated. A letter was read from The Civil Service Commission requesting evidence of Walter Armstrong's fitness for the role of Director. The board drafted a letter to say they were content that Mr Armstrong had the necessary qualifications. The salary of £500 was agreed. Three purchases approved - "An Interior With Two Soldiers and a Woman" by Peter de Hooch, (NGI 322) for £75. "Harborne Churchyard, Birmingham" by David Cox (NGI 375) for £88. "An Interior with Ladies" by Peter Coddle (NGI 321) for £73.10.0.
