Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 18th March 1897 in which the following was discussed: a list of pictures, drawings and engravings that were approved for purchase, with their prices attached. A portrait of Lord Heytesbury, Lord Lieutenant of Ireland was gifted to the Gallery [NGI 464], as well as a silhouette portrait of Rev Henry Boyd [NGI 2330]. The Director informed the board of some paintings that had been transferred to the Portrait Gallery of The National Gallery from the National Portrait Gallery in London. He also informed the board that the Treasury had sanctioned the appointment of a porter.
