Minutes of board meeting held in August (no day) 1882 in which the following was discussed: the Director stated that in view of the importance of the upcoming sale of the Hamilton Collection of Pictures Lord Powerscourt had requested a special grant of £1000 from the Treasury. The Treasury complied with the request. There follows a list of eight paintings approved for purchase. Also approved the purchase of "St Joseph with the Holy Infant" by Guercino [NGI 192] for £16.16.0 and "The Worship of the Golden Calf" by Pieter Pourbus [NGI 189] for £27.
