Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 9th July 1863 in which the following was discussed: the Director stated that he attended the sale of the late Rev. Walter Davenport and 'with the aid of the Lord Chancellor', purchased "The Virgin Enthroned" by Marco Palmezzano [NGI 117] for three hundred and twenty guineas. (p 378)
