Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 12th December 1874 in which the following was discussed: a letter from the Royal Hibernian Academy notifying the board of the recent election of Mr B.C. Watkins [on NGI board 1871 to 1890] and Mr Thomas Farrell [on NGI board 1875 to 1898] represent the insitution on the board. Correspondence with the Audit Office and the Civil Service Comissioners regarding the appointment of J. Burton and a certification that he should be required to obtain. The Director brought forward the estimate of expenses for the Gallery for 1875-76, and sent a letter to the Chief Secretary expressing that the annual allowance for purchase should be increased to £2000.
