Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 1st June 1861 in which the following was discussed: a donation from Sir Charles B Phipps for £100 and from the Prince Consort [Prince Albert] for £50. An update on the casts from the British Museum was read. The casts are complete. £112.19.6 payable. Cost of packing and shipping £115.4.0 plus £40. Mr Callwell [NGI Board member 1859 to November 1871] , as Treasurer and Trustee of the 'Society for the establishment of a gallery for ancient art' agreed to advance the cost. Mr Mulvany appointed Hon. Curator.
