Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 2nd July 1860 in which the following was discussed: letters were read stating that the Glasgow Art Mission had declined to purchase the plate of 'peep into futurity' and about the offer of Mr Baschet's offer to sell his red and white chalk cartoon after 'Raffaelles' School of Athens' for £40. A letter read stating that some of the Beaucousin collection of pictures would be made available to the National Gallery and the gallery in Edinburgh. A letter from the London Gallery states that any loans to Dublin are loans and should not be 'cleaned or repaired'. It as agreed the London Gallery will send six pictures. Discussion about imitations of Raffaelles' drawings published by Woodburn. Purchase of Mr Baschet's cartoon declined. Secretary instructed to offer £25. Discussion on purchase of casts for the gallery.
