Minutes of board meeting held on 9th November 1857 in which the following was discussed: the board were informed by a letter from the Treasury that they will not be applying to Parliament for a further grant. The board agree that acceptance of donated work will not guarantee the work will be exhibited, however, if not exhibted in the following the work will be returned to the donor. A list of 16 donation of between £5 and £10 from various Earls, Bishops, and Lords was noted, totalling £225. |
