Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 1st December 1856 in which the following was discussed: acknowledged a donation of £10. A letter from the Treasury was read, still declining to recommended a grant. A letter from the Treasury read outlining that they are prepared to put at the disposal of the National Gallery paintings from the National Gallery in London. The board proposed to seek the particulars of the available paintings. It was agreed to keep the proposed inscriptions relating to Dargan 'permanently maintained and preserved from defacement'. It was agreed to make a claim to the executors of the will of the late Captain Taylor's £2000 bequest for the encouragement of art in Ireland.
