Description
Minutes of board meeting held on 13th January 1855 in which the following was discussed: Richard Griffith 'laid upon the table' a proposed plan for the National Gallery of Ireland and the Museum of the Royal Dublin Society. It was agreed to design and obtain a seal. A letter to the Lord Edward Granville estimated the cost of building the National Gallery is £11,000 (including fittings). Mr William Dargan has agreed to provide £5000. The letter requests that Mr Granville 'submits an application to her Majesty's Government' for the outstanding £6000.
