Description
Handwritten letter with envelope from Hugh Lane to Sarah Cecilia Harrison of 14 North Frederick St, Dublin, telling Harrison of his aunt Lady Gregory's ability to raise over £2,000, but states that it would be useless unless she is able to raise more. £90 had been collected in Dublin and until the right site has been secured, Lane will not 'give my pictures'. Lane also states that the conditional gift of £2,500 from 'the Canadian' for the Municipal Gallery expires that day so they will need to fundraise that amount as well.
