Description
Handwritten letter from Aloysius O'Kelly to James Herbert, accompanied by an envelope addressed to Herbert at Harris & Herbert, Station Plaza and Third Street, Great Neck, New York. O’Kelly states that he will remain in Ballycurrane for some time. Mentions that he has found good subjects to paint and is satisfied with the results both from Cashel and Holycross. He is engaged in making copies from the originals and worries that it will be difficult to dispose of his work. He describes the village of Ballycurrane and the cottages, and thanks Herbert for sending a cheque for £50 on 22 September, asserting that this generosity will pay off as he believes his current work will be profitable. [This letter is comprised of an original and a postscript, both written on the same day.]
