Description
Typescript copy of a letter from George Russell at 17 Rathgar Avenue, Dublin to [Joanna Fortune] thanking her for the various communications, cuttings, and poetry she has sent him. He mentions the turbulent and "sensational" times currently being experienced in Ireland due to the War of Independence. He also writes of the reaction to the war in the USA, where Miss Fortune is living. Letter concludes with a reference to Padraic Colm, and Russell's request to Fortune that she give his kind regards to him if they meet as he has heard that Colm has moved to her city. [Letter is dated as 1820, but this appears to be an error given its content]
