Letter from Roderic O’Conor to Renée Honta
Download: view IIIF manifest
Description
Handwritten letter in French in which O'Conor writes that he is glad to hear that Honta has received the paints and he thanks her for the butter as it shows that she sometimes thinks of him. He burns paper in the stove each day before his model arrives to raise the termperature; although not pretty, one quality distinguishes her from others of her sex – ‘she does not speak unless one asks her something!’ O’Conor asks if Honta needs money. He is going to La Rotonde [café] in preference to his club [the American Art Association].
