Description
Photocopy of a typescript letter from Charles Merrill Mount, addressed from 114 Fifth Street NE, Washington, to a correspondent identified as 'Thomas', in which Merrill Mount writes that he has a letter which purports to be from John Singer Sargent to W.B. Yeats concerning a drawing by the latter. Letter references a photocopy of the Singer correspondence, and a copy is included. A transcript of the text is also included in Merrill Mount's letter. He asks 'Thomas' whether a copy of the letter would be of interest to the National Gallery, the National Library, or the Abbey Theatre, where the drawing is now housed. [Merill Mount was an American artist who also wrote a biography of John Singer Sargent.]
