Description
Photographs of drawings by the Carracci held at the British Museum. Annotations on the versos include dimensions and reference numbers. Many of the prints have been stamped by the British Museum, and many were bequeathed by Richard Payne Knight. Artworks represented include, by Annibale Carracci; "A monkey and a man’s face," "Drunken Silenus and (possibly) Pluto," "Study after etching of the Pieta" and "Head of a Dog." Also includes, by Agostino Carracci; "A study for an engraved coat of arms,"" Christ and the Woman taken in Adultery" and "Christ and the Woman of Samaria." There is also a drawing by Antonio Carracci, namely "The Virgin Surrounded by the Disciples."
